Curious Mountain Critters

(AliciaMarie)
When speaking about wildlife in our National Parks, thoughts often wander to bears and elk and wolves. While Reece and I did see several of these creatures, the most curious and lunch-stealing critters happened to be the small ones. In hopes of a meal they often posed perfectly for photos.

Festus * Featured Page *

Festus

(Belinda)
Festus became apart of the family after my kids rescued him at the local Dollar Store. Festus was a stray that ran into the store and got stuck behind a milk freezer. The clerks tried all day to get him out but he wouldn't budge. That night before the store closed, my kids walked to the store, and after the store closed the clerk let them stay and my daughter finally got the cat to come out. Well you can guess what happened after that. They brought him home with them, his eyes were all matted up from the dust and dirt. He kept sneezing and his little eye were so watery but we kept him and wouldn't trade him for nothing. Talk about a cat with personality.

I love seeing wildlife in their natural environment. Nothing amazes me more than seeing a bull elk in the field when the sun comes up. If I could, I would spend every day of my life in the mountains, woods, and forest getting to know the creatures, that God created, a little better.

Fly Pelican, Fly!!

(GeneseeGlassworks)
These are some pictures of pelicans we saw on a recent trip to Florida. Some were fishing 5 feet in front of us at the shore. What a treat to get to watch - especially for a northerer. Sorry, couldn't resist the cheezy Scarface title :P.
